Congress President Sonia Gandhi's election rallies in Chennai and Puducherry were on Wednesday,6th May-2009 cancelled due to security reasons, police sources said.Pro Sri Lankan Tamil organizations had announced that they would stage demonstrations against Gandhi's visit.
The UPA chairperson was originally scheduled to arrive here, go to Puducherry and fly back to Chennai to address a rally later in the afternoon in support of Congress and DMK candidates for the May 13 Lok Sabha polls.
While police sources said the rallies to be held on Wednesday have been postponed, no fresh date has been
