Action against Jaswant? Rajnath begins firefighting !!!

The infighting in BJP has worsened after Jaswant Singh went public with his differences with the party leadership and expressed his displeasure over the lack of accountability for the party's poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections.

Party chief Rajnath Singh is meeting senior leader L K Advani. According to sources, the tussle between Jaswant and others is being discussed at the meeting.

The sources also said that Rajnath has started firefighting and may reprimand Sudheendra Kulkarni and Jaswant Singh.

Jaswant had criticised several decisions taken by the BJP leadership at a closed-door meeting of the party on Wednesday.

In an interview to NDTV, he openly questioned the party's defining mantra of Hindutva and said the party had no clarity on what Hindutva meant or stood for.

He also said that extreme elements had dented the party's image and it was in danger of becoming a party of yesterday.

Apart from Jaswant Singh, the NDA's former national security advisor Brajesh Mishra has criticised his party's campaign going into elections.

Mishra said the public did not like the politics of negativism adopted by the BJP and said that someone like Varun Gandhi should not have been given a ticket.

However, BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy denied any action against Jaswant. He said the Jaswant Singh had raised certain issues that will be discussed in the party forum.
